Tasmania
Tasmania has always felt like a home away from home. Of all the places I have travelled throughout Australia, it is the only one where I immediately thought, I could live here. There is something about the island that resonates with me—its rugged mountains, vast protected regions, wild coastlines, and ever-changing weather combine to create landscapes that feel both intimate and untamed.
Although Tasmania is small enough to drive across in just a few hours, it more than compensates for its size with an extraordinary concentration of natural beauty. Every corner of the island offers something different, from alpine plateaus and glacial lakes to windswept beaches and towering temperate rainforests. It is unlike anywhere else in Australia, and that uniqueness is what continues to draw me back, much as Cairns does.
Much of my appreciation for Tasmania has been shaped by the work of Tasmanian photographer Peter Dombrovskis. His iconic book Wild Rivers demonstrated that landscape photography can be more than an artistic pursuit—it can inspire people to value and protect the places it depicts. That philosophy continues to influence the way I approach my own photography.
This collection is my tribute to an island that never fails to inspire me. I hope these images capture not only Tasmania's remarkable landscapes, but also the quiet sense of wonder that has made it one of my favourite places in the world.
